Corinthia Yacht Club - Kai's Songbird Restaurant, The Pearl-Island, Qatar
The Crystal Biosphere consists of glass leaves, birds, and a crystal field beneath the tree. Leaves and birds hang from a decorative ornamental metal frame on strings. The birds (12 pcs) are made of slumped glass, with their varied positions symbolizing the trajectory of a bird’s flight. The leaves are arranged to appear as though they are being blown by the wind. There are 261 leaves in different shapes and colours. Beneath the tree, there are 269 metal sticks adorned with crystal pieces, symbolizing dew. What is interesting is the use of natural material, as the tree trunk is natural Manzanita and stands 2.4 meters tall.
